A Very Country Weekend

It's been a week since I posted! Not that I haven't been thinking about this post! In terms of crazy weeks, this one was up there in the excessively busy department. This post is a little later than I wanted it to be, but better late than never, right?

Last weekend I was living a very different, slower lifestyle. A sister Melissa and I went to visit her family cottage, and she has lots of cousins in the area. They constantly tease her for being a 'city slicker,' so we decided we would try out being proper country people for the weekend.

This is how it went.

Melissa's cousin Kyle, who was basically our 'country specialist,' wanted to give us a taste of what living in the country is like. We started by going for a spin on his Jet Ski.

Followed up by some cliff jumping... I realize it doesn't look like we're very high up at all, but let me tell you, it looks a lot higher when standing up there.

We then headed into the town and tried on some camo gear.

I have to admit, my overall camo get up was surprisingly extremely comfy. I wouldn't have had a problem with lounging around in it all day.

Then it was on to our most 'country' event of the weekend! We loaded up Kyle's car with a few hunting rifles, ammo, and targets, then drove out to the country version of a shooting range.

Kyle was the pro and was much better than Melissa and I.

I did manage to hit one of the targets... it wasn't the one I was aiming for, but that's beside the point.

Overall, shooting was my favourite country activity! Never expected to say that in my life, but there it is. It's a lot of fun. If you haven't tried it, I suggest doing so!

On our last day of cottaging we blew up some floaties and spent the afternoon leisurely enjoying the lake. After working up quite the appetite floating, we whipped up some classic grilled cheese sandwiches before heading home!

I've got a few good ones planned coming up.
